Demolition and flowers under the Vegas sun.

News from Las Vegas today: The Moulin Rouge hotel has been authorized by the city council of Las Vegas to be demolished. The historic hotel was one of the first to pair casino floors and adjacent hotel facilities; and also stuck out at the time for having no segregation rules whatsoever. (Until that time, all other hotels had rules that barred or restricted African American guests from playing or staying at their spots, unless they were workforce or entertainment.)

It is now likely the building will be history. However, there are worse fates out there, I suppose. Vegas has history of mowing the old down, and replacing it with vibrant, beautiful and artful things. So as a hat's off show of respect, this post is dedicated to the Moulin Rouge. Perhaps any past or future Vegas visitor might consider agreeing.

In my opinion, this is some of your best work yet. The interior shot of the phones at the Bellagio should definitely be on their website. :) Same with the bar at Rumjungle...I never thought walking into a place 1 min before they close could have such a photographic advantage as it does at an empty bar! Haha.

The Rumjungle Bar Shot is sublime. I also agree regarding the phones at the Bellagio and the huge beam in the lobby are noteable as are the exotic floral shots. Infact itza great collection of images. D. M. :)
